Our Pledge to You
One of Craig’s favorite lenses is the Lensbaby and he is thrilled to be offering this brand new workshop in 2009 on the art and techniques of using this creative lens.
The Lensbaby is a specialty lens that gives a whole new meaning to the phrase selective focus. In addition to selective focus the Lensbaby has other unique properties that make it one of the best bangs for your buck in terms of a single piece of equipment having the potential to spark creative epiphanies. During this four day workshop Craig takes you on a creative journey with the Lensbaby as the creative muse. Craig will start the workshop with a presentation that covers the basic operation of each of the Lensbaby models including focus, bending focus, locking focus, aperture ring and exposure techniques, and working with both the focal length and macro adaptor kits. Craig also discusses Lensbaby techniques for shooting a variety of subjects including macro, abstracts, landscapes, architecture and people.
Included in the workshop presentations is Craig’s very own specialty technique - the split focus portrait. He will also make a special composition presentation showing how working with the Lensbaby has the potential to dramatically alter and expand the way we think about image design theory. Craig will also share the Photoshop techniques that he uses as companions to some of his most conceptual Lensbaby shots.
The stunningly beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia, with it’s lovely squares, historic district and lively River Street, will be the backdrop for our Lensbaby explorations.

Testimonials:
As this is the first year for the Lensbaby workshop, we invite you to view the comments of participants of some or our other workshops:
The Next Step workshop was a wonderful experience… fun, and highly educational. It really made me think a lot about what it means to be creative, and how to improve my personal creativity. Amazing teachers, and a highly supportive and motivated group of participants.. I can’t wait for my next workshop! -- Jennifer B. (Next Step Workshop participant March 2008).
I was sure that attending the Street Portraiture Workshop would help my photography skills grow. I could never have expected the amazing experience which unfolded. Craig and Marti have designed a workshop that will expand you as a person and open you up to creativity in a whole new way. There is no way to describe what you can expect as the experience will be unique for everyone. I can tell you that if you go to Savannah and open yourself to this journey, that Craig and Marti will guide you through experiences that will spark your creativity and photography, and quite possibly open you to look at the world with wonder again. -- Kate L. (Street Portraiture May 2008).
