The Daily Critique

"William from Georgia" by Craig Tanner

Posted: January 23rd, 2009 @ 12:01am

In this Photo of the Week on the Daily Critique Craig looks at a very powerful and evocative portrait. Craig talks about the potential power of sharing your joy as a photographer through being a part of a volunteer project. Craig also talks about the idea of photographing people in potentially challenging situations while still showing the dignity, grace, and highest aspect of the portrait subject. Craig discusses taking a low to high angle as a way to make people appear more statuesque or heroic or in this case angelic. Craig also achieving visual unity through the use of rhythm.
