"Yichao from Indiana" by Craig Tanner

Posted: January 27th, 2009 @ 12:01am

In today’s critique Craig looks at a beautiful impromptu portrait shot using natural light. Craig talks about potentially important qualities of light to think about when making portraits. Craig discusses body language, gesture and expression. Craig also discuses how we can look to the design of our main subject to determine what we include in the background while we are working in camera and also determine how we might edit the background of the image in the digital darkroom. Craig discusses the visual design elements of flow of focus, balance and repetition.
