"Afzal from UK" by Craig Tanner

Posted: February 11th, 2009 @ 12:01am

In today’s critique Craig looks at a beautiful street portrait. Craig discusses the idea of playing with big changes (in PS) to the curves dialogue to pre-visualize possible alternate variations of a black and white file. Craig works with several layers in Photoshop to make the main portrait subject move forward in the image. Craig takes a look at a workflow alternative that is similar to using a “work print” mentality to overcoming the possible limits and inhibitions of constantly referring back to versions that are close to what came from the camera.
