The Daily Critique

"Simon from California" by Craig Tanner

Posted: September 7th, 2009 @ 1:46pm

In today's Daily Critique Craig looks at an abstract / lensbaby landscape image and discusses the following:

- how abstractions encourage us to go beyond surface concepts and enjoy intrinsic forms, shapes and colors and how abstractions can suggest alternate realities

- how repetition can help us achieve visual unity

- how powerful red and black and yellow and black are as color combinations

- the daily critique is mostly about positive affirmation and learning the language of visual design

- being in the feedback loop is more meaningful and easier to deal with when we know the purpose for our work overall and know what it is we are trying to say with each image

- a huge thank you to all of the participants of our San Francisco Spirit of the City workshop!
