"Cam from California" by Craig Tanner

Posted: September 8th, 2009 @ 12:36pm

In today’s Daily Critique Craig looks at a beautiful landscape image and discusses the following:

- using alternating areas of texture (or color or value, etc.) to create visual depth and simplification of design

- managing contrast to simplify the story being told

- implying motion by using a mix of blurred subjects with stop motion subjects

- capturing or creating a layer of story that is potentially existentially provocative

- the difference between visual unity and visual tension

- a huge thank you to all of the participants of our San Francisco Spirit of the City workshop!
