The Mindful Eye’s Community Assignment # 15 – "What I Did On My Summer Vacation"

Posted: September 11th, 2009 @ 12:01am

In this week’s Photo of the Week on the Daily Critique Craig discusses a beautiful still life photograph submitted for TME’s Community Assignment #15 and discusses the following:
- working with a painter’s style or a school of painting as an inspiration for creating photographs
- color theory relative to complimentary color pairs and other psychologically powerful color combinations
- yellow as a color that can suggest a light source, the reflection of warm glowing light and the illusion of movement on the “z” axis of the image
- the very strong use of repetition in the image to create visual unity
- being open and non judgmental is one of the main archetypes and hallmarks of the most creative people
