In today’s Daily Critique Craig looks at a beautiful landscape photograph and discusses the following:
- framing as a design concept
- design motifs of spokes on the wheel and leading line
- in big landscapes thinking about a basic structure which includes a doorway, a clear visual path for the viewer to be able to move through the image and, finally, containing the eye
- using Adobe Photoshop CS4 to add more form to the background cloud, darkening at the top to contain the eye, and edits to the bottom of the image to balnce better with newly edited sky
- two basic tips – one about previewing value changes to the image and the other about editing layer masks
