In today’s Daily Critique Craig looks at a strong partially abstract photograph and discusses the following:

- abstract vs. literal

- emphasizing shape by cropping out a part of the scene, flattening perspective, working with the bright values

- creating tension by working with opposing energies

- reversing the values to create depth

- working with archetypes to increase emotional depth

- using images with limited dynamic range to gain a better understanding of curves
