Photography Critique - Architecture - Milwaukee Art Museum

"John from Illinois" by Craig Tanner

Posted: August 17th, 2010 @ 12:01am

In today’s Daily Critique Craig looks at a partial abstract of an architectural subject a photograph and discusses the following:

- abstracting by showing a part of the subject

- abstracts exist on a continuum from total, to partial, to almost none

- quality of light and implied movement through the image

- visual weight inside of a blank frame

- effecting a change in the image based on the implication of natural movement through the image
