Photography Critique - Flower Portrait - Big Bend National Park

"Judy" by Craig Tanner

Posted: October 27th, 2010 @ 12:01am

In today’s Daily Critique Craig looks at a beautiful portrait of desert plants and discusses the following:

- shooting macro handheld

- the power of very long focal lengths to abstract and bring subjects together in one fram that are physically very far apart

- combining the ideas of visual harmony and visual tension to create photographs that are more compelling and more personal to the vision of the photographer

- color theory and repetition

- Metadata – Olympus E- 620, EFL of 527mm, ISO 200, f7.1@ 1/320th
