"Robert" by Craig Tanner

Posted: November 22nd, 2010 @ 12:01am

In today’s Daily Critique Craig looks at a beautiful landscape photograph and discusses the following:

- shooting the surface of water at different shutter speeds to give yourself options in terms of stopped and implied motion

- framing, balance and leading line

- containing the eye and emphasizing the main subject by darkening the area around it

- darkening in Adobe Photoshop CS5 by painting with black in soft light blending mode on a blank layer

- Metadata – Canon 40D, EFL 28mm. ISO 640, F6.3@ 1/125th
