"Dave from California" by Craig Tanner

Posted: January 28th, 2011 @ 12:01am

In this week’s Photo of the Week on the Daily Critique Craig looks at a beautiful landscape photograph and discusses the following:

- dynamic range and the reverse split neutral density filter

- depth of field in a shot where the foreground is motion blurred

- the implied motion of average surf action at 1/4sec shutter speed

- getting close

- the importance of scouting in big, scenic landscape photography

- leading line

- balance and powerful repetitions if the circle and bridge shape in the image

- Meta Data – Canon 50D – EFL 16mm ISO 100 f8@ ¼ sec 3 stop reverse split neutral density filter
