Daily Critique

"Albert from Texas" by Craig Tanner

Posted: December 19th, 2008 @ 12:01am

In today’s Photo of the Week on the Daily Critique Craig looks at an abstract approach to a very mature subject – the Western Ghost Town. Craig discuses how some connection to the real in an abstract photograph can be a strong hook to get the viewer to make the choice to invest in the effort to discern the less literal parts of the image. Craig discusses how the visual design element of repetition helps to hold this very multi-layered image together. Craig also talks about the power of story in this image relative to some of the archetypal ideas that are represented.
