Posted: December 26th, 2008 @ 12:01am

In today’s Photo of the Week on the Daily Critique Craig discusses the importance of quality of light and, in particular, discusses window light as a possible light source for portraits. Craig talks about the potential importance of making the eyes of a portrait subject alive with light. Craig also discusses the importance of expression. Craig talks about working in monochrome to enhance the viewer’s emotional response and discusses working with depth of depth of tone and contrast, both global and local, to create a powerful feeling of dimension for the viewer.
