I wanted to share my latest journal entry, as I know this is the right crowd to appreciate the sentiment. I hope you enjoy it. Smile

I guess that settles the age old question...January 18, 2009 @ 8:52pm
...which is better Canon or Nikon! Have one of each Smile It sure looks like you've upped the weight that you carry again and now you have to remember which one does what, when and how? This would be way to complicated for my little pea brain. But if you're happy then I suspect I know why your shooting has improved. Thanks for the update and best wishes with your dual systems.

Oh, Jamie, I really do have to laugh at what's in your bag! When I try to go back and forth between my Nikon D300 and my Fujifilm S3 Pro, which is based on a Nikon D200 body, I get confused. For just one instance, the ways the menus are accessed are different enough to drive me crazy. I have to really stop and think - which body am I holding now?! And the menus are set up entirely differently from each other. Also the various buttons that control this and that are in different places.

Since I've also tried to help Canon users with their cameras, I know how much more confusing it'd be if I tried to work with a Canon plus a Nikon body in the field. I'd probably spend more time adjusting my brain/memory back and forth than I would actually shooting images.

But, if you have the type of brain that thrives on sorting out such differences in short order, then more power to you!

The image that accompanies your article, however, is just wonderfully stunning.

Thanks for sharing how and why you work the way you do.

Believe it or not, my bag weighs far less now than it did before I added the Nikon gear. Smile

As for switching back and forth, I'm not phased all that much by it. The one bit to master was the exposure meter. Nikon reads inverse to Canon, or vise-versa depending on where you started.

I'm loving it!
