| One less song in the meadow | March 25, 2012 @ 4:56pm | The day started out well, with a pair of ravens hopping around on the ground in full flirtation and a wild turkey calling from about 1/4 mile away. Then I encountered this poor chap. Lying right under the power lines that took its life, this Western Meadowlark must have hit the wires in the pre-dawn twilight a mere 20 to 30 minutes before I arrived.
