| April 27, 2012 @ 5:11pm | WOW, I love reflections like this, I esp love those 3 in the left half of the image that end with "fancy scrollwork" along the bottom edge.

| April 27, 2012 @ 7:08pm | "Orchestral" is the word that comes to mind.
Beautiful hues, patterns, and rhythm. A layering of elements -- without compositing -- that is just wonderful.

| April 27, 2012 @ 7:41pm | Thanks everyone.
This is an inverted shot of a reflection off of a small lake. There was a touch of wind, and several water birds taking off and landing, which account for the waves. Having taken loads of shots, I too, was drawn to the "scrollwork" you noted in this one, Flo. I wanted to include more of it in the shot, but cropped out an unfortunately placed power line.
Wes, as far as "seeing and capturing", I had definite intent with the subject matter in general, but felt lucky to have found the interesting and varied shapes offered by these particular wave patterns. Something I only "saw" after the fact, but was quite grateful for. As for the "leaves" - they are lily pads. I enjoyed how they were positioned and seemed to float at the tops of the otherwise bare trees. The surface of the water was moving, but apparently not enough to disturb the anchored lily pads.
April, thanks so much for your kind comments. This image was the result of a fair bit of tweaking in Lightroom (at which I am very much a novice) to bring out the colors and contrasts. But given where it started, I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I still have much to learn.
Thanks for taking the time to look and comment! Chance
