The backlight really brings out the velvet, Roaddog.

Wes, Thanks for commenting. I have a few more images to get proccessed, but other than taking this quick trip to Montana and back I have been buried in work.

Glad you had a chance to get out for this image. Love the backlight and how it separates the buck from its background and really shows us that he's in his velvet stage of antler growth.

The exposure is right on, too, with detail in its face, yet the background isn't blown out.

You probably didn't have a choice, but sometimes these forced opportunities really work out--I love the backlighting and the outline it creates.

Flo and Rick, thanks for taking a moment to view and comment.

When I first spotted this fellow I was up hill shooting at his backside. I worked my way around a small copse of woods to a frontal position and was really excited by the back lighted opportunity
