Late afternoon shoot in the Crested Butte cemetary - rather than statuary and tombstones, I had the pleasure of spending time watching the fox hunting for its dinner.

What fortunate timing for you, Catherine and the fact that your eyes were open enough to capture the scene. Those perked up ears look like he/she has spotted something to the left.

Great shot.

How neat to be able to see a living creature among the memorials to the dead humans. Of course, when this fox captures his meal, that means death for its prey. Did you get any more shots of this fox? I'd love to see them.

What a nice surprise and lucky shot. Kudos. You did well.

Go ahead and play with the images. I would ask that when you post them on other sites (such as Flikr, Photobucket, etc.) that you credit my photography. I would do the same for you! Other than that, I'm E Z T D B W.

Hi Catherine,

What a great time for you to show up. And just how much more cooperative could this little fox have been?

I love the wispy hair on the fox and how it mimics the wispy plants around him/her. And, you could now have chosen a better color scheme -- the warm reds and golds of the fox and the cooler greens and blues of the blooms and the background.

Great moment and great colors!

Hi Catherine,
I'm with Marti, what a gorgeous colour scheme. Really beautiful shot to my eye.
Great timing too.

Nice capture! i've had the pleasure of being in the right place and right time and there is nothing like it. I like the crop and the framing of the picture. I don't know if it would work but I think if you take the back ground and darken it it would pull the fox forward more. if your open to change. Very nice eye!

Catherine,

What a beautiful capture of the moment. I really like your composition and DOF. Just enough detail around the fox, and flowers and the soft focus to the background.

Really great job!

Catherine,

What a thrill it is to have a wild animal pose for you. I love the soft purply blue color in the background and then the little dots of purple in the flowers. It all came together.!

You and the fox must have been equally excited about spotting something that day. I like how unaware he is of you, captured in the middle of his foxy life. And I admire your presence of mind to make such a beautiful composition. I'm usually so thrilled by a good wildlife encounter that I lack the wherewithal to think photographically (or to hold my camera steady; I could do an album of blurry wildlife).
