A true sign of spring at 37 degrees. How do they do it?

All are lovely, Wes. Daffodils are my favorite notice of spring.

Wes, I'm partial to number 3. Something about the way the foreground echoes the background.

I also enjoy the separation and harmonies between foreground and background in each of these. In #3, the echo of the distant tree behind the arc of the crocus cluster; and in #2, the gentle background curves echoing the foreground bends of the snowdrops(?).

Reviewing the images, I realized they're posted in this Still Life forum! Are are you playing with forced flowers and backgrounds/background windows? The settings seem very natural.

Exactly what I saw then I shot this, Katie. Thank you for picking up on that.

These are all quite natural, April. Seems I spent this morning's shoot on my stomach most of the time. The only problem I had was waiting for the gusts of wind to die down.
Thank you for the comments. I used a 28-300mm lens this time for the close ups and I think the backgrounds came out the way they did because of that.

I just learned a new way of shooting low if the tripod doesn't get low. If you fix the camera so that it is at a 90 degree angle to tripod and then lay the tripod on the ground with two of its legs spread apart, you can get about 3 inches off the ground and have a pretty steady prop.

These are just very beautiful, Wes. Thanks for the tip about tripods. There's also a short center column that one can buy for certain tripods - I have one and it allows me to get very close to ground level.

Thanks, Flo. In this technique there is no dis-assembly of the center post. Mine will do that also. This is one of those things that can be done at the last minute.

Wes, I don't disassemble the center post each time. I disassembled it once, installed the very short post - and that's the way my tripod has been ever since. In fact, I don't even know where the long post is! So when I want to get low, all I have to do is splay the legs out flat.

Ha! I typed the legs - not my legs!
