| Depth of Field - February 20, 2009 | February 20, 2009 @ 2:18am | In this Podcast from the vault Craig discusses a less technical and more experiential and personal way to think about and calculate depth of field. Craig defines depth of field and other concepts related to depth of field like defraction and hyperfocal focusing point. Craig discusses a way to test you lens for defraction. Then Craig gets into very practical ways that you can work with aperture and hyper focal focusing to maximize depth of field. Craig also discusses a split focusing technique for maximizing depth of field.

| Excellent depth of field podcast | February 24, 2009 @ 10:14pm | | This clear presentation on depth of field also covers diffraction and how to test your own lenses. Craig wisely avoids extensive math and technicalities, but he doesn't oversimplify either. This talk provides a great starting point, and a useful framework to keep you oriented if you decide to seek out more detailed expositions later. |

| Podcast on non-tech. depth of field | February 26, 2009 @ 1:38pm | | Thank you for presenting a non-technical way to approach this issue. I will try out your suggestions for achieving maximum DOF with my Nik.18-70mm lens. I will also give the two focal planes a go in PS. I don't know if my PS Element7 can do this but it is worth a try. |
