Introduction to Lightroon (Lesson 1, Part 2b) - March 20, 2009March 20, 2009 @ 12:00am
Continuing with the First Introduction to Lightroom Lesson One, Part 2, Marti Jeffers takes the viewer through the process of importing images into Lightroom from a travel hard drive and importing images into Lightroom from a compact flash card. With Lightroom, you can copy your images from the external hard drive or compact flash card to a folder on your computer hard drive, back those images up to a larger external hard drive, and update the Lightroom catalog with information about the images in one step.

Marti, I am getting so much out of each of your Lightroom tutorials but I am feeling guilty that I am not using it yet.
In order to get rid of the guilt, I am just going to have to resort to opening up LR and start organizing, something I have never done. This is going to take some time, even though I will be following your tutorials to get me started. I am telling as many people as possible (on dpreview, retouching forum and nikon forums) about your great tutorials so I hope you will be getting a good audience.

Keep up the great work.

Part b, is just as great as the others, Marti. If you aren't careful, I am going to have to hit the LR button on the desktop. I just updated it so should just bite the bullet and try it out. Today's information gave me a better idea about utilizing my external hard drives and the Compact Flash card. Keep up the good work.

Love your teaching method and the speed at which you cover the material.

Thanks for the alert, Marti. As with the others, you are continuing to peak my interest in Lightroom. Your approach for beginners is terrific. Easy to follow and to understand. Can't wait for each tutorial. I will try to keep up in the future. Your tutorials are much better than several of the books I have checked out.

Great job.

Hi, Marti
I'm enjoying your tutorials on Lightroom. Although much of it is familiar to me, I do pick up a tip now and then. Your teaching style is very easy to follow and understand. A suggestion for your next tutorial, continuing the import theme, would be how to import images from your travel HD that you have already done some LR development work on. It took me some time to figure out how to do this, and I still can't always remember from trip to trip. Thanks for your contribution to TME.
