I've not so patiently waited all winter for more flowers. And I'm pleased to announce that they have arrived. Spring is sprung...FINALLY.

Enjoy my play with the original and the artwork, not necessarily in that order.

Go ahead and play with the images. I would ask that when you post them on other sites (such as Flikr, Photobucket, etc.) that you credit my photography. I would do the same for you! Other than that, I'm E Z T D B W.

Very enjoyable, indeed! The treatment with a texture and a water-color look seems ideally suited to your flower. Without your original, it would be hard for me to tell that this began life as a photo. Care to share some of your Photoshoppy moves?

Photoshoppy moves: Art History Brush Baby. All the way. Sometimes I use Corel Painter, but not for this one.

Thanks for the comments.

Janet

Janet, I think you have a real talent for finding flowers in situations where you can make photos that'll turn into artwork, cards, etc. This is gorgeous!

Art History Brush Baby - is there such a thing, or did you mean to put a comma after Brush? LOL

I really like the original as well as the retouched version. I also enjoy the way you have placed the flower and stem diagonally across the image. No matter whether I start from the left or the right, I end up at the beautiful flower.

I think this is a wonderfully executed and beautifully appropriate treatment for this lovely image!

Flo, Wes, and April, thank you for your high praise. My head is beginning to swell. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Creating artwork from photos is one of my passions. It means a lot to me when others think I'm on the right track.

Oh you are more than on the right track. This is the perfect treatment for that shot. The watercolor effect on the canvas is really a nice effect.
