Craig and ShadowMarch 30, 2009 @ 11:25am
Hi everyone,

I'm still in Savannah where we just ended an amazing Next Step workshop. Both Craig and I have some things we need to do here and are staying over for a few days.

Craig just had to rush back to Atlanta to see his Portuguese Water Dog, Shadow, off as he leaves the life he shared with those who loved him on this earth. Craig will be returning to Savannah later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Although this is not unexpected, as Shadow had a long life with Craig and with Karey, it is still sad. Please keep Craig, and Karey with whom Shadow lived for the last two years, in your thoughts and prayers. Craig was a rock for me when Riley, my American Eskimo Dog, was suddenly killed a couple of weeks ago.

Perhaps, Shadow and Riley can keep each other company at the Rainbow Bridge.

Aw, not another one! Gee, Craig, I know how much Shadow meant to you and Karey. My prayers go out to both of you for your loss.

Thanks, Marti, for letting us know!

Love & Hugs,

I am so sorry to read this. Two good friends passing within such a short time, from two close friends. I like to imagine they were meant to be together on the other side.

It is sad to see a beloved member of our lives leave this existence. May you always have the memories fondly held close to your heart.

Go ahead and play with the images. I would ask that when you post them on other sites (such as Flikr, Photobucket, etc.) that you credit my photography. I would do the same for you! Other than that, I'm E Z T D B W.

Thank youMarch 31, 2009 @ 9:44pm

Hi Everybody,

Thank you for your very kind words of support. They mean more to me than you can possibly know.

It has been a tough day but also a day to remember Shadow with a heart full of gratitude. Being there with Shadow at the end was a huge gift.... just like his friendship... he was an extraordinary being who helped me in so many ways.

Thank you again for all of the kindness expressed in this thread.... With Love, Craig

Craig,
I just read about this for the first time today, and my heart goes out to you. My dog, Jedi, is getting up in years and he is the best friend I have had over the past 9 years. I don't quite know what I will do or how I will react when his time comes, but reading the song you wrote will definitely help me through it. No one can take away the memories. No one can take away the love and the bond that was shared. Hang in there...my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Gone but not forgotten.

From the poem "We Have a Secret" unknown author:

And only I walk woodland paths
and see you ahead of me,
Your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.

May your memories be sweet.
