SpiderwebJune 28, 2009 @ 11:16am

I took this at 5:30am in June last year. I was on my brothers stag trip where we rented a barge and traversed the Norfolk broads in England for a week. Fantastic time in the morning and the light was beautiful. They thought I was insane getting up so early every morning, but the magical light was always worth it.

Regards,

Danny

To me, the spider web with the fog in the background suggests something mysterious or scary in the fog. I keep looking into the fog, hoping to get a glimpse of what might be lurking in there. Maybe it's a monstrously huge and evil spider.

In my mind, when I crop just a bit of the fog from the top of the image, to just above the fence posts, the story becomes more about the web itself.

Very nice, the lighting is perfect as is the composition and the B&W. I get a good feeling of depth with this.

Thank you for sharing your B&W pictures. They are very nice.

Danny, sorry I missed this post. You have the beginnings of a scary story here - if you want to push it further, and if you know how to clone - well, the web can sprout a hairy spider, lol.

Very nice catch, Danny. You managed to get the direction of the light just right in order to see the web. I have such a hard time. Also, you got a decent focus here. Usually there is the least bit of breeze and they move all over the place.
Is there a big old spider waiting at the light?

Thanks for the comments everyone!
It was about 5am so all the spiders were asleepWink

Picture this in your mind, a large barge with 10, 24-33 year old men on a stag trip for a week... the boat is weighed down with the weight of the alcohol on board. However this is a tourist route so in wonderful fashion you can have a pub crawl just by drifting downriver from pub to pub.

Still people need to sleep... wait whats that...
Damn that mad Irishman that gets up at 5am he is getting out with that damn camera and tripod again.

They all wanted to have me commited... trouble is I already was, but not to a mental hospital, rather to this new world I had discovered... photography.

Although one morning I sent something crashing as I tried to get past the maze of bodies... man did they get madGrin

LOL, not my idea of fun - too many bodies in too little space. No wonder the crash, huh? But thanks for the story - I'm learning about another aspect of Irish daily life!
