| July 18, 2009 @ 8:29am | Naked alpine pit babes?! I think you'll have to explain that to me. A joke?
I've never seen a breed of cattle that looks like this, tho. At first they seemed interested in you. But then something to the right drew their attention. Something more charming and interesting than you, Roland, lol?
I love the hair-do on the head of the cow on the left. Wonder which beauty parlor she goes to, lol?

| July 18, 2009 @ 4:40pm | Naked alpine pit babes? I always thought of the Swiss as somewhat...conservative. But you are right--these girls are brazenly strolling the hillsides with their nipples exposed (although you, conservatively, didn't take that shot).
And will their milk go into fine milk chocolate or some tasty cheese? What makes Swiss-owned cows special to those of us in other countries are the bells, each bell with its own unique tone. The cows get to provide their own rhythm and music to accompany their vocal sounds. A portrait of a Swiss cow is incomplete without the bell prominently displayed.

| July 19, 2009 @ 9:33am | I fear, jokes that need to be explained are not good jokes... Yes, Flo, when I saw those alpine beauties swivelig their head synchronously, I was immediately remembered of the audience of car races... and given their beauty status, I felt these must be kind of "pit babes". I never can be 100% sure if my translations from german really work out well... these are "Boxenluder" in german, and pit babes was the closest translation I could look up.

| July 19, 2009 @ 9:48am | Thanks Roland. Luder in German has a long history of meanings that are derogatory, especially to women. Closest translation in English would be "bitch" (I hope this software accepts that word, as the old RV wouldn't, lol). Meaning prostitute. Lude is/was used to mean a pimp.
In English, "babe" can be derogatory, or just a general slang term for a beautiful woman - or of course, a real baby. Depends on the context in which it is used.
I guess pit babes could be either nice gals who help out or work in the pits, or not-so-nice gals hoping for some sexual attention.

| July 19, 2009 @ 10:24am | Thanks, Flo. Well, I often verify my translation attempts by searching in google images for the given term... This one seemed to fit.
