I hate heights, so this one actually makes me feel uncomfortable, although it didn't at the time I took the shot. C & C welcome.

I really enjoy the perspective of height here, Katie. Overall it's a very serene image for me until I see the texture on top of the front dune but the smooth surface of its slope reminding me of the winds causing constant shifting. Then I think of walking into this shot and I'm instantly exhausted. Whew, what a workout you've given me!

I can only imagine trying to scale up the side of this dune. Goodness, I have trouble with small dunes. However, it would be a good slide down from the top!! I enjoy the various textures in this image.

For me this is almost an abstract. I am not familiar at all with the subject so that is how it struck me. I really like the image and I think B&W works well.

I'd certainly call this one an abstract, esp since you converted it to B&W. I agree that it would be very exhausting to try to climb this one.

Have you considered this image for the assignment of looking down?

Awesome photograph Katie. I like the textures in your image. It looks high up but it really looks like you could just roll down instead of fall off. Grin
Thanks for posting.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. Fortunately, not a lot of climbing was necessary to get this perspective since we were traveling in a very comfortable dune buggy. Unfortunately, this shot doesn't qualify for the assignment, Flo, because I took it in June.
