Nice shot Mike! I love that the cars are captured in still motion but there is still a ghosting effect to show the motion. Amzing how close these cars draft at high speed. Looks like #47 is being towedSmile

Or perhaps #47 is pushing the other one, lol. If one didn't know anything about car racing, one could come to that conclusion. Mike, this is a very nice capture - it's got the focus and shutter speed and panning perfect!

Do you have any others? This sports category is miserably under represented here at TME.

Great panning on this shot, Mike. From this POV, they do look dangerously close, don't they. I can hear the VROOOOM and smell the oil all the way up here. Looks like a fun day.

Thanks guys, this was a first time for me. I have a lot of total blurs and half cars, this was harder that I thought, not to mention it was 100 zillion degrees in the pit.

Hi Mike,
I know how difficult it can be to pan and actually capture something worth keeping.
You did a great job capturing these. I like the way you managed to get the three cars in frame. I also like the ghosting. The blurred lines keep everything all nicely framed too. Good focus, good colour, all round a good photograph. I like it.
Wow, 100 zillion degrees, now that is hot!

Mike,

I agree with the others. This is a great shot.

Panning is tough. When I have shot races recently I have taken 700-900 shots but only keep 30-40. The keeper rate for shots like this is very low.
