| Dahlia | August 7, 2009 @ 8:03pm | I couldn't seem to make anything with this image until I converted it. I like it, and hope you do to.

| August 7, 2009 @ 10:16pm | I love it, Katie. I never thought I would ever appreciate flowers in black and white, but I do. The details of the petals and the entire blossom show up very nicely in B&W. This is a beauty. There is probably a mathematical formula of some kind out there that would explain the placement of the petals and the numbers in each row, tec.
I really like it.

The Fibonacci series, perhaps, Wes?
Katie, this is very beautiful. The petals, esp the lower ones, look translucent. I do like the "stripes," which are really the veins.

| August 8, 2009 @ 6:41pm | I love black and white, in almost everything, and this is such a splendid example of why. I like the simplicity that might be missed in a color version. Beautiful. Becky |

| Thanks everyone | August 9, 2009 @ 12:17pm | This was a classic case of color actually getting in the way, which seems odd, as Wes noted, that color would get in the way of a flower image. Perhaps B & W worked best in this image because the subject is so highly structured.
Fabonacci Flo? I had to Google it. Very apt!

| August 9, 2009 @ 12:27pm | Hi Katie,
I like how black and white can simplify things. You have inspired me to try some black and white on some of my flower images. The flower almost looks like paper. As Flo mentioned, some of the petals look transparent. It is a beautiful photograph.
