Hi Gary,

I like the DOF. I like how you have composed your image too. The colours are beautiful from the foreground all the way to the background. I like how the light has hit the pollen making it look as if faerie dust was sprinkled about. Maybe it is faerie dust. I think I see gossamer wings surrounding the cluster of pistils.
To me it is still a beautiful flower.

Gold and green are such beautiful colors together. Then the lines in here are nice as well. Nice image, then finished up with a good focus and depth.

Your image is sad since it portrays the end of this flowers life but there is still a future within from the seeds that will eventually start anew. Interesting details in this shot.

Ditto what the others have said. This almost looks like jewelry to me! i also like how this seems to have 2 legs to stand on, so to speak, with the green calyx on the right and the one spent flower toward the left. I like the bits of orange around each dried up pistil - echoed by the subtle orange in center background.

...and now I'm just "interesting", like "you've got an interesting face." Good for you for capturing a flower's declining moments.

Thank you all for the comments. I had no idea anyone had replied to this. In fact, I’d forgot I posted it. I just stumbled across it accidentally, as I didn’t think I’d even posted anything in the Macro Forum yet. I just can’t get used to clicking on the “Notify me of new messages” when I post something.Sad
