I have to tell you, the details and colors in flowers really grab my attention, too. By admitting that, I am sure I open myself up to all sorts of wise cracks but, so be it. At least they don't talk back or reject me.

Beautiful colors. What f/stop were you using? How about stopping down a little more?

Thanks for the comments, guys and gals.

These were taken during my first use of the lens, Flo, when I was still in my the-less-DOF-the-better mode. It's hard for me to get out of that mindset, but hopefully I'll get there.

The macro f/stop to get the effect you want depends on how close you are, how large the subject is in relation to your distance and how much blur you want in the whole scene.

So whenever possible, shoot the same subject at different f/stops - then you'll see how they make a difference.

Yeah, that's my new technique! Tongue

Unfortunately, I don't have a tripod yet, so keeping the same distance to the subject and checking the screen for results is pretty difficult at the moment. Grin

DON'T check that screen between changes! Just keep changing the aperture and keep shooting! Look at the results after you've run through your sequence of f/stops!
