Nice colors, and great detail in this! Of course, I like the selective focus, too.

Beautiful picture, Wes! I really like the contrasting colors of the flower and the background.

I have a question: what is happening around the outer 1/3rd of the flower? Is that because of the focus you chose at the time or is it post-processing? Marty talks about selective focus. Is that what I'm referring to too?

Thank, Marty and Baasie. The blur was done in pp. I was going for a kind of glow but may have failed. I did a gaussian blue, the masked the blur out of the center of the flower.
Actually, I didn't have a decent DOF here and the edge of the flower was already slightly out of focus so I decided to give a bit more. The main reason for the shot was the combination of colors in the flower. It was the only one of this color in the group.

Thanks again.

Wes, you did a very skillful blur - each time I try it, I can tell where I've been, lol. The colors are gorgeous here.

Thank you, Flo. I get the feeling that my education in both photography and photoshop are at the crawling stage, so there is much to be learned.

Very vibrant Wes. "Crawling" seems to work well for you.

Wes, I was trying blurs today and I give up. This looks really lovely and the colors are right on as well.
