Very nice, Flo. I thought you said you could never get macro shots in focus! That first bee is a difficult subject, even though she is slower moving than a honeybee. Those black-on-black eyes are really difficult to differentiate from the rest of the head, but you've got good focus on them. That red flower is a kick, too.

I like the second shot, with the bright yellows of the bee and pollen against the lilac-colored petals. The square crop is a good idea, too.

Call me crazy but when I look at the second image I can not shake the idea that this bee is a young surfer bee dude who just had some blond highlights put it.

I know... I know...

I must be crazy Cheesy Cheesy

Just see it every time Wink

Thanks, Rick. I do luck out once in a while. The monarda and bumble bee image was made with a 50mm lens plus a macro filter - don't remember now what its strength is. The bee in the crocus was made with my old Sigma 90mm macro before I got rid of itl

Jan, thanks for your comments.

Danny, you're just plain crazy, lol. I do love your sense of humor!

Thanks, Trish. I am proud of these, as they are two of only a few decent macros I've been able to capture in the past year or so.

Yeah, I missed these the first time around. I'm glad they were brought up again in the thread.

Flo, these are great! I especially like the composition in the first one. The colors are fantastic in both.

I've gotta get a macro filter.

Thanks, Marty. A true macro lens works better than macro close-up filters for regular lenses.
