| Decorative Red Clower Flowers | September 19, 2009 @ 7:41pm | We put in a few patches of this fancy clover a couple of years ago for ground cover. It has red leaves and beautiful tiny yellow flowers.

| September 20, 2009 @ 6:57am | Looks like an oxalis. Very small flowers. We have it as a weedy (meaning planted by birds) ground cover here - and if allowed, it'll take over. There's also a green-leafed white-flowered version. Your camera/lens did an excellent job of capturing the happiness of this little plant.

Very good Flo. I think you are right. I searched google and was amazed at how many varieties of clover exist. I am pretty sure I found my variety there. First year we put it in it almost died. Last year it stuggled a bit but got a single plant nicely established in a desolate place in the garden. This year we have two very nice thriving clumps of it and I can see if this continues it will need to be cut back.
It does provide a lovely color, low ground cover and this variety at least delightful minature flowers. On this photo I wish I could have entirely captured the drying one at the bottom with that lovely spiral.

| September 20, 2009 @ 8:35am | There are many species and varieties of the Oxalis genus. Here's some info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxalis
In the USA, what we call clover belongs to the legume family, while oxalis belongs to the shamrock family. Their leaves do look something alike, but the flowers are very different.
