Beautiful capture of whatever this is! A light? Surely not two interlocking Duncan Donuts - do you have that chain of junk foods where you live?

PunctumSaliens,
Your smiley face is winking when you say not much post proccessing.

I think I could make this and "The thing N°773" in photoshop CS4 extended. Did you? They are both beautiful.

Thank You for sharing.

The wink was the inspiration.

I will try to get a picture of something that looks a lot like this near where I live and not apply much post processing either.Smile

I saw quite a few of them tonight but was only able to get a picture of a dead one's skeleton. If you look at the Exif info you can see it was taken tonight with my camera.Wink

I'm not sure if you started with a photo of a shape like this or how much you did in photo shop but I'm impressed. I worked very long and had came close to duplicating it but it never looked as good as yours.Worshipper It took quite a while to get the lighting and colors close and it would have taken a while to come up with the right texture and I would still have to move the donuts around some more.

I am not going to put any more time into this because it is your picture. Nice Work. I had fun and learned even more while doing this. Thanks.

I sort of hijacked your thread. If you want me to delete all this I will.

Thanks for the comments.
@Curt: interesting work! I didn't do much here... just played nice guy and followed my wife through the pre-christmas days shopping lanes. I always have my cam with me. This is a shot of a lamp. Two light tubes torn that way. I only inverted the shot and did some minor color correction.

Used two RAW developpings to bring out details and let the lamp post sink into darkness...

cheers
