Simplifying A Scenic Landscape ImageDecember 7, 2008 @ 11:40am
In this episode of the digital darkroom Craig discusses simplifying a scenic landscape image. First Craig uses the spot healing brush for digital gardening high contrast areas that are busy in the image. Craig shows two choices for the spot healing brush in the options bar, proximity match and create texture, that might help you to quickly get more mileage out of the spot healing brush when doing digital gardening. Craig also discusses a strategy for using the clone stamp as a healing brush. Finally, Craig delves into a couple of new options that are available within Curves in Adobe Photoshop CS4 and uses those new options to make final adjustments to the image.

Digital Work on ImageDecember 7, 2008 @ 6:03pm
Craig:
Wow! That was a great lesson on my image. I have been far too timid on exploring changes in my shots and need to work on this more. I think what you did comes much closer to the image I saw when I made the exposure. Honestly I find shooting easier than the evaluation and digital darkroom part of the equation. This really helped me in a big way. Thank you!

Craig,

I get so much from your Digital Darkroom episodes and especially this one of Bob's rocky coast shot. I like how you share with us different CS4 tools and how to use them creatively. Thanks and I look forward to many more DD's.

Thanks for the lesson re: the rocky coast. I certainly cannot approach your analysis of an image, but it really helps to see and hear how you think through your changes and then how you accomplish your goals in Photoshop. Good job!!Smile

Digital Darkroom AvailabilityDecember 17, 2008 @ 5:09am
Craig,

The way you describe your thought process as you go through these images is one of the most beneficial aspects of your new site. Along with your daily critics, I've advanced tremendously in my efforts to become a better photographer. I download and save your DCs into a reference file that is searchable - its a tremendous help. Is there anyway the DDs can be made available as downloads?

Again, thanks for all that you do for the photographic community.

DD DownloadDecember 17, 2008 @ 10:54am
Craig:
I would mirror the request for a DD download. Since it was my image you worked on my repressed ego would love to have a copy. But the pure ability to keep viewing and to study the techniques would be very valuable to have close at hand. Hopefully this is something that will occur in the near future.
Thanks!
Bob
