SITE MAINTENANCE - 12/20December 20, 2009 @ 7:22pm
Greetings Everyone!

I'll be performing maintenance on the site tonight (Sunday, December 20, 2009) at 11:00 p.m. EST. This means that the site will be unavailable until further notice.

We will be back up and running as soon as "otterly" possible.

As long as you have subscribed to our eNews, you'll be notified when we are LIVE again. If you haven't done so, just click here to subscribe now.

NOTE: If you are subscribing, please check your email after you do so as you'll need to confirm your registration (for the first time only). If you don't receive a confirmation email, please check your spam folder, etc. as it may be there.

Thanks!

Kel

Kel, I think your counter isn't subtracting people as they leave this site, lol. 159 online when I went to read a post - and then 164 when I went back to the main page!

the most we've ever had at any time that I've noticed is about 44.

I feel like a little kid opening a Christmas present this morning. The site looks exciting. I can't wait to open it up and see what's inside.

Craig,
Wow, there is so much educational (and of course inspirational) content on this site...that I feel that it should be required reading for all levels of photographers. AND the content is so good that it could serve to give course credits to all those you benefit from it.

And to think that ALL this is free. Wow. Much to be grateful for!!!

Thank you all for the hard work that MUST take place at a relentless pace behind the scenes to give us such knowledge, education and inspiration on such a regular basis.

Happy Holidays. Hope you get to relax and revel in your accomplishment.

We have a new look - that was created in part based on your feedback. We hope you find the new layout, colors, and backgrounds easier on your eyes.

Yes! Working on the computer all day -- when I'm not taking photographsWink -- high contrast is especially tiring. Softening helps a great deal.

Our long dormant Foundation Concepts section of our features will see a lot of new content over the course of the next few weeks. Check back often for new videos in this series.

I kept looking at that section, and am delighted to see it back along with the assignments!

Thank you again for being a part of The Mindful Eye!

How can we thank you for all that you give... And well done, Kel -- both in design and implementation! I didn't expect the site to be back up again as quickly as it was this morning. As Curt wrote:

I like the cleaner design of the pages. The home page, especially, seems to have benefited. But (you knew I was going to nitpick) would it be possible to put a little login/logoff link back on each page? It seems an unnecessary hassle to page all the way back to the home page to logout when the time comes to take my leave.

Hi Rick

The logout should be present on every page under the Members block (on the top right hand side) EXCEPT the community for now. If you are not seeing that please let me know asap.

I will add a link to login/logut at the top of the community area as well in just a bit.

Question: I never logout - all the while Safari is open, I never logout of any site unless I must do so to access another page on that site. When I shut down Safari, that is my logout from everything.

So, Rick, why do you logout? You said your "lazy ways" - seems my way is even lazier, lol.
