| January 27, 2010 @ 12:54pm | Well, I've read articles about this subject before - and this one is very well written.
But I'm not going to fall into the "trap" of debating this any more, as photography has different meanings for everyone, and many people have only one way of viewing the world around them. Thus, this makes for endless disagreements.
I'm more interested in interpreting the "real world" in my own way. Some like it, some don't.

Photography is not a perfect representation of reality, rather a means of communication or a form of expression... Capture and post-production are two parts of a single process that turns an idea into a photograph. |

I've always enjoyed both sides of the equation, and absolutely love the process video in this article. It strikes me as not so different from the (philosophical) approach and techniques Craig has shared with us, and definitely the direction I want to pursue! Though with the following in mind:

How much post-production you apply to your images depends on the context in which you wish to show them. For news and nature photography, less Photoshop is allowed, but for art or pictorial photography, why should there be any limits? |

Love it.
