Bruce,

Nice job of capturing a quick and unpredictable subject. I really like the hard cut made by the surfer.

I wonder if the subject was pushed down more to the lower right and the shot was a little looser, would the kite be visible?

Bruce, you caught a great moment in this surfer's experience. I also love the changing colors in the water. What lens did you use? Did you get any images that show both surfer and kite - or just the kite?

Thanks Chris and Flo. The lens was a Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS shot at 400mm. The Kit was really high up so even at 100mm I don't think I could have captured it.

Great shot. Great color, composition and perfect shutter speed.
I shoot windsurfers and kite boarders in the Columbia River Gorge and it is hard to get the boarder and the kite in the same image and still have a good close-up detail.

Very well done.
