For anyone interested in reading about color, Alain Briot has just published a first in a series of essays on color composition. He is a great writer and is interesting to read. You can find it here:

WOW thanks Wes. I was just finishing a powerpoint presentation on color; and this filled out areas where I was a little thin.

Great catch.

Go ahead and play with the images. I would ask that when you post them on other sites (such as Flikr, Photobucket, etc.) that you credit my photography. I would do the same for you! Other than that, I'm E Z T D B W.

It helped with my understanding, too, Janet. Glad you enjoyed.

Wes, how did you know?? That's exactly the chapter I'm currently reading in Alain's book Mastering Photographic Composition, Creativity and Personal Style.

It's a great book. The only thing I don't like with Alain's way of writing is that he says the same thing over and over again. Sometimes he uses 10 sentences when 2 would have been enough.

Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Yes, in a book there's no need to repeat and repeat. But when you're trying to teach some new concepts to a group, it helps to repeat and repeat.

So I'm wondering whether Alain tapes his presentations and then has them transcribed, but not edited, for his books?
