Evolution of Ellis Square, Savannah, GAMay 15, 2010 @ 7:53am
Those of you who have been to Savannah, GA, might be interested in this webpage I made about Ellis Square. Those of you who have never been there, but might be taking one of TME's workshops held in this wonderful little city might also be interested.

Some day I hope to add some other pages, each one about one of the other 22 squares.

I don't think I saw Ellis Square when I was there in 2008, but I'd sure like to visit it now!

A book project! Smile

Recently, I seem to come across a lot of photographers creating photo books through Blurb. Maybe someone here has done so?

Thanks, all, for taking the time to look at this and for your kind comments.

About Blurb, Craig and Marti have used them to make a book for two of the landscape workshops and now will be making a book for the Composition workshop. I've seen Wes' copy for one of the workshops he took last year and it's a very high quality.

But as for making a book about Ellis Square, I have only a few images of its construction phases. Anyway, if I ever decide to tackle a book, it will be about another subject.

Flo --

Thank you for documenting the recovery of Ellis Square. It is so great that you thought to do that while it was under construction!!! April, you've seen the square, but it was surrounded by a safety fence as it was still in the process of re-construction.

It's the only "modern square" in Savannah now and they did a great job of bringing it back from a parking garage.

Thanks, Flo!!

HI Flo,

Yes, I'm home -- trying to find my floor, tables, etc. that seem to have disappeared with stuff piled on them during all the spring Weekend and Workshop travels. I've started laying out the workshop schedules for 2011 -- Craig and I worked on ideas in Savannah for a couple of days after the Composition Intensive Workshop the last week in April. I'm starting to layout some things, check on park permits, close out the spring workshops so that we can start fresh in September for the fall workshops, etc. Hopefully, we will have the 2011 schedule posted by the end of June.

Thanks to everyone for your patience with our busy spring schedule this year!!

Take care -- Marti
