I captured this image recently while working as a second photographer documenting a spring round up and branding for a large cattle company.

I had a few free moments and found this pole with all these old antlers and heads on an old homestead near where we were working.

These are similiar images, but with different exposures. I am discouraged at the fact that I let the antlers run out beyound the edge in the second image. Your thoughts and comments are appreciated.

Impressive pole decorations! If you can match them, add the tip of the antler from the first image onto the 2nd image and you'll have the best of it.

Flo, thanks for the idea, that hadn't even crossed my mind.

Great shots! At first, I thought the power lines were a distraction. Now, after another look, I guess they add interest.

I appreciated the second of these two images (the first shot has too shallow a DoF) enough to play around with it a little. The backlight edging was nicely controlled.
You were likely to run into a cropping problem regardless. A vertical frame would have included all the antlers, but another approach is an aggressive crop which chops some more horn on top and some on the sides. I often find that tight cropping will eliminate the implication that an error was made.
Finally, I was unable to cope with the wires. Cloning them away removed a constant and unpleasant distraction.
