| June 30, 2010 @ 6:45pm | I sometimes think that "composition" is the wrong word. Maybe we should think in terms of "framing" instead. In the painting world composition works. You put things where you want, create the perspective you want, etc. But in most photography you are presented with a scene, and you get to frame it. Your job is to decide what to eliminate by how you frame.
I can see maybe using composition in still lifes where you create a set and control the positioning of every object in the scene. But in most situations we are framing instead.
