| Soda Shop | June 16, 2010 @ 12:10pm | I picked up a new little pocket camera yesterday. I'm not sure I like it, but the chocolate shake was fantastic!

| June 16, 2010 @ 1:22pm | Marty - This would have been a good one for the last member challenge. We had an old Krispy Kream doughnut shop where I grew up, and my brother and I would spin on stools like these until we were sick. ( or did we eat too many doughnuts it was fun either way.)

| June 16, 2010 @ 1:23pm | | Thanks, John and Bill. This is the Elliston Place Soda Shop in Nashville. It's been around forever. They still have the individual jukeboxes at the tables. They no longer function, but they look cool. |

| June 16, 2010 @ 5:23pm | Marty, I used to love to go to places like this when I was a kid. My fav drink was a Brown Cow - root beer plus milk instead of cocoa cola and milk. That floor is fantastic!
What is your new little camera? I keep telling myself I need one, lol.

| June 16, 2010 @ 6:01pm | I got the Olympus Stylus 7030. It's small enough for a pocket, with a 7x optical zoom. Those features are important for me. It has exposure compensation, which I like, but really don't need. I may exchange it for the Nikon Coolpix S6000. Any experience with these cameras?
Here's another shot from the shop. I don't know WHY I decided to convert to B&W.
ISO 800, 1/50, f/3.4

| June 16, 2010 @ 7:21pm | I love the color version, Marty. It adds so much of the feelings for that period. I have spent many hours sitting on one of those stools with the same colors all around me. A fantastic memory.

| June 16, 2010 @ 8:37pm | When I was a kid we had one of those where I lived on Long Island. Don't think it had a name, we all called it the candy store. Milky Way was .05 each! Then when we moved back to Oregon there was Taylors Drug, same deal. In New York I'd get a vanilla soda, vanilla flavoring and selzer water. Ordered one in Taylor's when we first got back and got a vanilla ice cream soda. Soda in Oregon then was refered to as "pop"!

I pity the man never loved by a dog!

| June 17, 2010 @ 7:35am | Marty, I do prefer the color version - it seems to trigger even more memories than the B&W did, lol. Thanks for posting it.

| June 17, 2010 @ 8:30am | Marty, I'm one vote for the B&W version. The seats were green where I grew up so the color version kinda blows that away. The colors can be anything you remember in the B&W. Just one opinion. John
