It is fascinating to me how a ordinary root crop also can have beautiful little flowers. I cannot recall seeing pictures of these in any flower books.

Veggie flowers don't usually show up in flower books, because most people don't notice that veggies have flowers - they are usually small, would be my guess.

Anyway, I love both your images of the potato flowers. They belong in the same family as tomatoes, peppers and eggplants. Plus there's a little vine, Solanum dulcamera that has purple flowers and small poisonous berries - but the birds eat them.
