| Hung Up | July 5, 2010 @ 3:43pm | I'm conflicted about this image---it violates the principle of simplicity. Way too much going on in the upper right. However, there is no way to capture the main subject (a large branch hung up during the winter or spring floods) without the "herbage." Moreover, from any other position the angler would be missing. Does it hold anyone's attention for more than a moment?

| July 7, 2010 @ 9:04pm | What appeals to me is the quietness of the person sitting there - I want to be in that image at that location . . . Becky |

| July 8, 2010 @ 2:59pm | Becky, sometimes I forget our access to solitude. The person is a friend and we fish that stretch of river together in spring, summer, and fall. We've never seen another person, footprints yes, but no people. Here's another photo, in colour, of my friend in one of the spectacular trees that crosses a river braid.
