What an unusual - to me - center of this flower!
I happen to like plain black backgrounds, but some people don't. So go with what you like here.
The stem is fine, but you might try darkening the lower part of it gradually so it fades into the background. Then this will help the viewer's eye stay on the flower.

Blue disk flowers that pop orange as they mature--wild! I think your dark background is rather effective with the white flower. I also like Flo's idea of fading the stem. Nice shot!
