Or perhaps just an echinacea flower under high magnification. They are finally blooming in my backyard. Bees and other interesting creatures will soon discover them, too, creating a great colorful background for bug shots. Colorful is the operative word--I made no adjustment to color saturation on this shot.

I don't recall ever having seen these centers so close-up - thanks for the experience. Even can see little pollen grains!

| July 25, 2010 @ 11:38am | Great analogy, Rick. The center of these blossoms are truly engaging. Ours here on the east coast are beginning to wane somewhat so the colors are less than interesting. Great depth in this one.
