Wow! A faceless person? A big toe? You've really got me thinking.

I agree with Bob, you've got me thinking about what this could be and how you created it.

How very unsettling. I so want to see the "face" in this subject, but because I cannot instead try to intuit from the gesture, colors, forms (of a shawl?) and setting.

And end up projecting myself into the image.

Which has a quiet grace I could only aspire to embody. Smile

Powerfully disturbing and intriguing.

Unsettling is right! Roland, unless you blurred the head/thumb slightly to get rid of identifying texture/details, I simply don't have the type of imagination to identify what this could possibly be! Undecided Lips Are Sealed

However you produced the finished image, it's a spectacularly spooky abstract! The human propensity for anthropomorphizing is what's unsettling here. If we didn't have this propensity, then we could settle down and admire the colors in the light versus those in the shadow, plus the composition, shape and forms.

My emotional response to this is great sadness, Roland. I like the fact that the image does cause me to have a strong emotion. The sad part is the apparent masked face that so many of us hide behind rather than allowing who we are to show through. I see a woman in this picture and would just like to be able to reach out and touch her to make sure she is OK. Wonderful shot.
